Jellycat have an exciting opportunity for 2 new Backend Developers to join our growing IT Team! Due to Jellycat’s company growth, we are looking for 1 Senior Backend Developer and 1 Junior Backend Developer. The role and responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

• To carry out developments to agreed success criteria aligned with the business need

• To follow AGILE sprint methodology, prioritised by the Digital Product Owner

• To represent IT in development project meetings and take on ownership of tasks

• To stay up to date with latest technology, techniques, and methods

• Conduct research from which you'll develop prototypes and proof of concepts

• Look for opportunities to use business systems across other functions in the business

• Stay curious and enthusiastic about using automations to solve problems and enthuse others to see the benefit of your work.

Required knowledge and skills:

• Experience of integrating with an Enterprise class ERP solution (SAP, Oracle, IFS or D365) in a busy manufacturing, wholesale, or retail environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of SQL & Python.
• Full understanding of the use of REST and SOAP APIs
• Task orientated, able to work to fixed deadlines and SLAs
• Logically minded, likes to use data and evidence to support findings
• Excellent communication and empathy skills, Strong service ethos
• Excellent trouble shooting skills
• Able to work independently and under pressure from time to time

About you:

• Minimum of 2 years professional experience of developing in a production environment
• To have worked with an IT service environment, meeting, and exceeding SLAs desirable
• Working with BigCommerce, Shopify+ or Magento a distinct advantage
• Analytical, lateral, and proactive, inquiring thinking style
• Will lead from the front in a hands-on, practical manner
• To align with and contribute to a small, focussed team
• To have a deep sense of service and ownership
