eCommerce Manager, North America

The eCommerce Manager, NA oversees daily DTC website operations, calls strategic plays, and coordinates cross-functional efforts to manage online sales growth. This role is accountable for North America’s DTC e-commerce performance, including meeting annual revenue targets and improving key metrics like conversion rate (CVR) and average order value (AOV). Reporting to the Director of eCommerce (North America), you will lead a small eCommerce team and collaborate with global colleagues to ensure our online strategy and content aligns with the brand across regions. The ideal candidate combines hands-on platform expertise (Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, SearchSpring, Akeneo, Google Analytics) with strong analytical and leadership skills to optimize our digital commerce channel.
You’ll be doing:
- Own North America DTC Performance: Drive and deliver against North American direct-to-consumer revenue targets by improving site metrics. This includes analyzing sales trends and customer behavior to inform growth strategies and meet or exceed online sales goals.
- Team Leadership & Strategic Support: Supervise and mentor the eCommerce Specialist (Stock Planner) and eCommerce Content Specialist, overseeing their projects and day-to-day tasks. Act as the right-hand to the Director of eCommerce NA, stepping in as needed to lead initiatives and special projects that improve the website or drive new revenue.
- Website Operations & Technology Management: Lead and manage the North American site operations through a platform migration. Ensure the online store is running properly and coordinatw with Digital Product and IT teams to resolve any technical issues. Maintain a deep understanding of eCommerce systems (e.g. SearchSpring for on-site search and merchandising, Akeneo for product information management) and ensure these tools are fully leveraged.
- Merchandising & Content Oversight: Ensure the online product catalog is optimized and up-to-date. Work with the eCommerce Specialists (and global teams) to coordinate timely product launches, accurate product data and pricing on the website. Optimize product content and data to create high-converting product detail pages and a consistent, engaging shopping experience.
- User Experience & Conversion Optimization: Create and execute strategies to continually improve the on-site user experience and customer journey, with the goal of boosting conversion rates. Partner with the Digital Product team to test and launch new website features or A/B experiments.
- Analytics & Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key website metrics on a weekly and monthly basis (traffic, conversion, AOV, bounce rate, etc.). Use Google Analytics and other tools to monitor site performance and customer behavior, identifying areas of concern or opportunity. Analyze data trends to generate actionable insights and propose tactics to improve key KPIs.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Digital Marketing, CRM, Inventory Planning, Operations, Creative, and Customer Service to synchronize eCommerce efforts with broader campaigns and initiatives. Coordinate with marketing and stock planning teams to ensure product availability for DTC. Address trading challenges in real time (e.g. sudden stock issues or spikes in demand) by liaising with relevant teams, so that we maximize sales opportunities and maintain a seamless customer experience.
- SEO & Content Strategy Alignment: Develop and support North America-specific SEO strategy to grow organic traffic and enhance search rankings. Ensure that site content and ecommerce campaigns are aligned with global brand standards and messaging and collaborate with global eCommerce counterparts to maintain consistency across regions.
- Continuous Improvement & Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with eCommerce industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Use this knowledge to keep Jellycat’s eCommerce strategy competitive and innovative.
You’ll have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience and direct responsibility for an online store is required. Experience in a fast-paced retail/eCommerce environment (consumer products, fashion, or related industry) is highly valued.
- Proven hands-on experience operating eCommerce platforms like Shopify Plus & BigCommerce with strong knowledge of eCommerce ecosystem tools such as PIM systems, site search/merchandising tools, and content management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret web analytics and translate data into actionable strategy.
- Proficient in Google Analytics (GA4) and other analytics/dashboard tools to monitor performance and identify trends.
- Solid understanding of digital marketing channels (SEM, email, social) and their interplay with eCommerce.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience implementing SEO improvements on an eCommerce site (e.g., optimizing page content, metadata, site structure for search visibility).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, including providing clear direction, feedback, and support.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities and deliver results on time.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential – this role interfaces with many departments and global colleagues, so the ability to influence and coordinate efforts across teams is critical.
- Experience managing through website replatforming or major eCommerce projects and familiarity with Agile project methodologies is a plus.
