People Operations Manager

Creating original and innovative luxury soft toys, Jellycat combines luxurious fabrics with quirky and cute designs and sells its products online and via stockists throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
The Jellycat People Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving all HR operational processes within the organisation and providing a professional and responsive service to the business. This role ensures efficient and effective delivery of core People services, including payroll, benefits administration, HR information systems (Hibob), employee data management and compliance with employment regulations in the UK and Europe. The People Operations Manager works closely with all departments to ensure a seamless employee experience, operational excellence, and compliance with People guidelines and legal requirements.
You'll be;
- Managing and continuously improving core People processes
- Overseeing employee data management, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Ensuring People processes are standardised, documented, and aligned with business needs.
- Leading efforts to enhance the People service delivery model, utilising technology and process improvement strategies.
- Working with People Operations leads in other regions to ensure consistency in guidelines and processes
- Managing the Jellycat HRIS system, (Hibob) to ensure accurate and timely processing of HR transactions.
- Collaborating with IT and external suppliers to troubleshoot system issues and implement enhancements.
- Ensuring our HR data is accurately maintained and up to date in the HRIS and other relevant systems.
- Overseeing payroll data preparation to ensure timely and accurate transfer of payroll data to the Finance Team and resolve any issues.
- Administering our employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.)
- Working with external suppliers to manage benefits programs and monitor supplier performance.
- Ensuring full compliance with local employment laws, and internal People policies.
- Monitoring employment law and regulation changes in the UK and the European countries in which Jellycat operate that may impact HR operations, implementing necessary adjustments to processes and guidelines.
- Managing internal and external HR audits, including documentation and reporting for compliance purposes.
- Generating reports, metrics, and dashboards to support business decisions and improve service delivery.
- Analysing data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improving operational efficiency.
- Leading and developing the People operations team
- Fostering a collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement and customer service excellence.
- A key point of escalation for People issues, resolving complex problems and ensuring high levels of service.
- Collaborating with People Partners, Talent Team, and other departments to ensure smooth People operations.
- Providing operational support to managers and employees on People-related enquiries, guidelines and processes.
You'll have;
- Minimum CIPD level 5 or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in People Operations with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g. Workday, SAP, ADP)
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labour laws, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communicator with professional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
