This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging writer to join Jellycat’s growing creative team and help bring our playful tone of voice to life for French-speaking audiences. Reporting to the French Copywriter and based in London, you’ll support the creation and adaptation of engaging French copy across product, marketing and digital channels. You’ll work closely with our English copy team and other stakeholders, developing your craft through guidance and feedback while helping ensure the spirit of Jellycat shines through naturally in French.

You'll be;

• Writing and adapting French copy across product descriptions, emails, blogs, social content, marketing, digital and PR.

• Bringing the personality and spirit of our English copy to life in natural, engaging French.

• Working closely with the French Copywriter, English copy team and wider stakeholders to respond to creative briefs.

• Proofreading your work carefully for grammar, spelling, punctuation and consistency.

• Developing your understanding of digital copywriting, SEO and effective calls to action.

• Contributing fresh ideas, playful language and creative thinking to briefs and brainstorms.

• Applying feedback and tone-of-voice guidance to continually strengthen your writing.

• Keeping copy and briefs organised while managing agreed priorities and deadlines.

• Asking questions, sharing ideas and building your confidence across a varied range of writing projects.

You'll have;

• Native-level written French, with an excellent understanding of French language, idioms and cultural nuances.

• An excellent command of English, enabling you to work confidently from English-language briefs and source copy.

• Strong attention to detail, including excellent French grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills.

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise your work, and meet deadlines.

• Some experience writing, editing or translating into French, whether through an internship, junior role, freelance work, study or personal projects.

• Examples of work that demonstrate your writing ability.

• An interest in digital copywriting and SEO, with an enthusiasm for learning best practice.

• A passion for storytelling and a desire to develop your copywriting and transcreation skills.

• A collaborative approach, with confidence asking questions and responding positively to editorial feedback.

• Ideally, a degree or equivalent experience in French, Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, Communications or a related area.
